After having studied and assisting teaching Toyama Ryu for over 15 years in Orlando Mike Soriero was given the opportunity to conduct classes and introduce this great art to the Clermont area. Soriero Sensei’s Martial Arts study began in1972 training in various arts such as  Tae Kwon Do, Okinawan Goju Karate, Chito Ryu Karate, Okinawan Kobudo and Kendo.  In 1999 he began  training in Toyama Ryu under Bob Elder Sensei (7^th Dan Kyoshi) and Hataya Mitsuo Sensei (9^th Dan Kaicho Zen Nihon Toyamaryu Iaido Renmei). Since attending the first official Japanese sanctioned sword Tai Kai (tournament) in the U.S. in 1999 (hosted by Bob Elder sensei he has won over 10 Gold medals in competitions in both the U.S. and Japan.  In 2012 he relocated to Clermont, Fl. and was given authorization  to open a Dojo and study group by Hataya Mitsuo Sensei.
